Categories :

As the sports betting calendar heats up, January offers a mix of exciting NFL playoff matchups and competitive college basketball action. Making informed bets requires analyzing trends, matchups, and key statistics. Here are the best bets for NFL and NCAAB on January 18, 2025.

NFL Best Bets

  1. Texans @ Chiefs
    • Spread: Chiefs -8.5
    • Total Points (Over/Under): 41.5
    • Our Pick: Weather can play a critical role in this game. Game time temperatures will be in the low to mid 20’s with sustained winds at over 20 MPH. The Chiefs have not look like themselves in years past but have been able to find ways to win games throughout the season. We expect the Chiefs to win this game but the Texans to cover the spread. We like the Texans with a touchdown and a point and half here. (Texans +8.5)
  2. Commanders at Lions
    • Spread: Lions -9.5
    • Total Points (Over/Under): 55.5
    • Our Pick: This game should be a fun one to watch. In the dome and no need to worry about weather conditions. The Commanders have been a feel good story this year in the NFL. Unfortunately they now get to go up against one of the leagues best offenses and a defense that showed what they are capable of in their last game against Minnesota. 9.5 points is a lot to cover in the NFL, but in this case it is warranted. This game could get out of line quickly and the Lions could find themselves up at least that at half time. (Lions -9.5)

NCAA Best Bets

  1. # 4 Alabama @ #8 Kentucky
    • Spread: Kentucky -2.5
    • Total Points (Over/Under): 178.5
    • Our Pick: Alabama is coming off a loss vs #21 ranked Mississippi while Kentucky has been winners in 3 or their past 4, including wins over #6 Florida, #14 Mississippi State, and #11 Texas A&M. This should be a high scoring game in which both teams have no problem scoring 80+points. With this game being played at Rupp Arena, we are taking Kentucky. (Kentucky -2.5)
  2. #1 Auburn at #23 Georgia
    • Spread: Auburn -5.5
    • Total Points (Over/Under): 147.5
    • Our pick: Auburn showed they are still a very good basketball team even without their star Johni Broome. On the other side, Georgia has their own lottery pick candidate in Asa Newell. Both teams shoot the ball well as they are ranked in the upper half in the country, as well as rebound the ball as well. With the game being played in Georgia, we will take the home team underdog here. (Georgia +5.5)
