Start/Sit Fantasy Football: January 11, 2025
As the NFL Wild Card Weekend kicks off, fantasy football managers still competing in playoff leagues or daily fantasy contests need to make the right start/sit decisions to maximize their lineups. Here’s a breakdown of the top players to start and those you might want to sit for the games on January 11, 2025.
Game 1: Los Angeles Chargers at Houston Texans
Start
Joe Mixon (RB, Texans)
Mixon has had a tough time running the ball the past few weeks. Today will be no different. However, if the Texans have any chance in winning this game, they will need to rely heavily on Mixon and the running game. Their wide receivers corps has been riddled by injuries, and Mixon is one of the few playmakers that can make things happen.
Ladd McConkey (WR, Chargers)
For me, its wheels up for McConkey in this matchup. I do not expect Dobbins to have a big game and the Chargers will need to rely on McConkey in this game to win. Joshua Palmer has already been ruled out, so there should be no shortage of targets here for McConkey.
Sit
J.K. Dobbins
Dobbins is still coming off an injury a few weeks ago and has been limited at practice all week with an ankle injury. He is going against a tough Texans run defense and I do believe the Chargers will need to throw the ball to win this game. Edwards is also back in the fold to steal away goal line carries if need be.
Game 2: Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens
Start
Derrick Henry (RB, Ravens)
Yes this is a tough divisional matchup. No Im not sitting him in daily lineups. Three weeks ago Henry put up 23.9 Draftkings points and I see no reason why he won’t do that again tonight. In this tough matchup, the Ravens will need to feed Henry the ball as they look to advance to next week.
George Pickens (WR, Steelers)
Pickens will be my ride or die player for today. We all know Baltimore has given up big games this year to number 1 receivers. If Pittsburgh has any chance in this game, they will need to rely on their passing game, and Pickens will have to make big plays to make that happen.
Sit
Najee Harris (RB, Steelers)
If Harris goes off, I’ll consider my lineups toast. The way to beat Baltimore is through the air, not the ground. Few weeks back when these two teams played, Harris put up 4.2 fantasy points. I don’t see much changing in this game.
Start/sit decisions during Wild Card Weekend can be challenging with so few games. Trust the matchups, stay informed, and don’t be afraid to roll with the star players.
